Campus Communicators Boot Camp

MBM_stacked-line“This seminar builds on the wildly successful UO FACEBOOK panel discussion here at UO. At the reduced rate of only $99 per person (including lunch), I strongly urge all communicators on campus to attend.” -Susan Thelen, Director of Advertising, UO

Blogging, twittering, facebooking, podcasting at UO? Yes you can!

You have heard the stories of wildly successful commercial or private campaigns online (Does the phrase “We love our Ducks!” sound familiar?) and you think it might be a great fit for your department. But how do you get started? And, how do you make it work in a University setting?

We’ll will show you have to build a foundation, help you create a comprehensive social media plan. We will take you from how to listen and monitor the social web, through developing a blog, maximizing facebook and teach you how/when to use Twitter as a valuable tool.

Practical and Purposeful.
This hands-on Social Media Boot Camp will immerse you in the basics of the most popular social media tools and focus on how to use them to create conversations with your key audiences and maximize your return on time and money investment. And it will be presented taking the University’s audiences and limitations into consideration.

Our focus for this boot camp will target the needs of those on the UO campus who are administering, planning or budgeting for social media comunication vehicles in their department or campus unit, or for those considering implementing. We’ll pull from case studies from actual UO pages/blogs/twitter accounts, and teach the best practices and provide specific information for communicators on campus.
